Finn Blaxland

The Week In Finn (July 4, 2008)

July 3rd, over at the Cottrell house, Finn learns the joys of pyro-technics. With his super worrying dad, Finn escaped personal injury. Though his dad did burn his thumb.

Next morning, July 4th. Nothing says Independence like a parade of fire trucks.

Finn watched on with his mother.

Apparently not as influential in the independence stakes, tractors (including ride on lawn mowers) through the town's main street. Finn has had enough.

So we head off to the beach. After a nap through the Garden State of New Jersey, Finn enjoys a splash in the Atlantic at Ocean City. [See full size version of this photo].

Winnie and Finn construct sand buildings.

Daddy's feet. Finn's feet. Another in a series of feet in the sand art photos.

Finn, Winnie and Doobie head off to the boardwalk.

Where the amusement rides await!

Finn on the Go Carts.

Waiting somewhat patiently for his turn.

Ellie & Finn on the fire-engine ride.

Enamored by the big kid rides?

Finn & Doobie go arms in the air on the "definitely not the Thomas the Tank Engine even though it's blue with a face on the front" ride.

Doobie sneaks a glance.

Finn walks the scary rope bridge.

Finn and Doobie later on the spaceship ride. Just after this photo a dispute between them emerged, peaking with Doobie clocking Finn in the face and a minute of awkward rotating cycles of crying.

From the boardwalk, watching the fireworks out in the ocean.

Happy Independence Day.

Photography Notes

For the non-American's listening in, 4th of July is the basis for a very successful movie featuring Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum. Ever since that movie, every 4th of July in the US, fireworks are set off to celebrate the defeat of the crazy aliens who tried to invade this great nation.
